St. John the Baptist and St. Joseph are committed to providing for the spiritual growth and catechesis of the youth of Tipton and Elwood. Registration for this youth program is FREE.
Lifeteen is designed for high school students (9th-12th grade) to not only come to a deeper understanding of their Catholic faith as young adults but also to build community and faithful discipleship with their peers. Lifeteen will allow participants to dive into practical applications of their faith through leadership opportunities, community service, deanery retreats, and involvement in parish life.
LifeTeen is a lot more than "just" a youth group. We provide a systematic catechesis (fancy word for religious education) that is consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Each semester will cover a different theme (Creed, Morality, Sacraments, etc.) that is bolstered by both fellowship (Social Nights) and real-world discussion (Issue Nights). We also provide opportunities to experience and connect to the larger community within the Carmel Deanery, which includes other parishes like Our Lady of Grace in Noblesville, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Carmel, and Holy Spirit at Geist in Fishers, just to name a few. Some youth groups may "just" be a place to hang out, but the LifeTeen program is not one of those places. We strive to provide a meaningful spiritual growth for participants with fun and fellowship!
